What should I do if my QR code does not work?

Having Trouble Scanning Your Simgiga eSIM QR Code? Here’s How to Fix It!

If you're experiencing issues with scanning your Simgiga eSIM QR code, here are some common reasons and solutions to help you resolve them:

1. Your Phone May Not Be eSIM-Compatible or Is Carrier-Locked

Check Device Compatibility: Ensure your phone supports eSIM technology. You can refer to our eSIM-compatible device list for confirmation.

Your Phone Must Be Unlocked: Only carrier-unlocked devices can use eSIMs, especially when traveling internationally. If your phone is locked, contact your carrier for assistance.

No eSIM Support? If your device doesn’t support eSIM, don’t worry—you can still use a physical SIM as an alternative.

2. You Are Scanning the QR Code Incorrectly

🚫 Do Not Use the Camera App! You cannot scan the eSIM QR code using your phone’s camera. Instead, follow the correct steps:

For iPhone: Go to Settings > Cellular > Add Cellular Plan > Scan QR Code

For Android: Navigate to Settings > Connections > SIM Card Manager > Add Mobile Plan > Scan QR Code

3. You Are Not Connected to the Internet

Stable Internet Required: A Wi-Fi or mobile data connection is essential to install and activate your eSIM.

💡 Pro Tips:

  • Install your eSIM before traveling (preferably at home, one day before departure) to avoid connectivity issues.
  • Do not activate data roaming too early! Activate it only upon arrival to ensure your eSIM remains valid.

4. Try Manual Installation

If scanning the QR code doesn’t work, manually installing your eSIM may solve the problem:

📩 Check Your Email: After purchase, Simgiga provides an activation code in your email.

🛠 Enter Details Manually:

  • Select "Enter Details Manually" during setup.
  • Input the activation code from your email.

5. Your QR Code May Be Expired or Already Scanned

QR Code Expiry: eSIM QR codes have a validity period. Once expired, they cannot be scanned again.

🔄 One-Time Use: If you attempt to scan the same QR code twice, you might see an error like "Data Plan Cannot Be Added."

📌 Check for Existing eSIM Installation:

For iPhone: Go to Settings > Cellular > Check Cellular Plans

For Android: Navigate to Settings > SIM Card Manager > Check Installed Plans
