Does Samsung Galaxy S7 series support eSIM?

The Samsung Galaxy S7 series, which includes models like the S7, S7 (USA), S7 Active, S7 Edge, and S7 Edge (USA), does not support eSIM technology. eSIM is an advanced feature that enables users to activate mobile plans without a physical SIM card. However, the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge were engineered to operate solely with traditional nano-SIM cards, and eSIM compatibility only emerged in later models, starting with the Samsung Galaxy S20.

If your current Samsung Galaxy S7 series device lacks eSIM support, you can still access this technology through two practical methods:

  1. Utilize a Specialized SIM Card: You can employ a unique SIM card that adapts your device to manage eSIM profiles. This solution effectively sidesteps the absence of built-in eSIM functionality, allowing you to enjoy its advantages.
  2. Upgrade to a Compatible Samsung Model: For native eSIM support, consider switching to a newer Samsung Galaxy device. Models from the Galaxy S20 onward include this feature. You can explore a list of eSIM-compatible Samsung phones to find suitable options.

Please note that eSIM availability isn’t universal—it may depend on your location or the specific retailer or carrier you purchase your device from, so it’s wise to verify local support.
