Getting Started
The eSIM (Embedded Subscriber Identity Module) is a revolutionary programmable SIM card integrated directly into devices. Unlike traditional physical SIM cards, eSIMs support all standard networks, including 4G and 5G, offering the same functionality without the need for a removable card. These embedded SIMs are widely used in various applications, such as connected vehicles, wearables, tablets, smartphones, laptops, and M2M (Machine-to-Machine) devices.
eSIM technology relies on secure remote SIM provisioning, enabling users to connect to network providers without needing a physical SIM card. This innovation enhances the functionality of connected devices while supporting more compact and eco-friendly designs. Wearables benefit significantly from eSIMs, as they save space and help optimize battery performance by eliminating the need for bulky physical SIM slots.
In the automotive industry, eSIMs allow vehicles to seamlessly connect with smartphones, enhancing user convenience. For laptops, eSIM integration offers brands and retailers new opportunities to upsell or cross-sell flexible data packages. By simplifying connectivity and supporting next-generation devices, eSIMs are shaping the future of digital communication.
Most device models from 2019 onward support eSIM. For the latest information, refer to this complete list of eSIM-compatible devices.
